About the Author

Carolyn Stimel, PhD, ABPP, is a Forensic Psychologist who served as a gubernatorial appointee on the Florida Task Force on Domestic and Sexual Violence. She is a former president of the Florida Psychological Association. Dr. Stimel has a private practice in Tallahassee, Florida in which she provides individual psychotherapy, law enforcement consultation, and forensic consultation to attorneys in both criminal and civil cases. She is also a consultant to the Florida Sexually Violent Predator Program as well as other agencies.
