Medical Error Prevention in Mental Health Practice


A 2-credit, 20 question CE Program by Terry S. Proeger, PhD, that addresses some of the most common situations where medical errors might occur in a mental health practice. Participants will increase their knowledge and understanding of the frequency and cost of medical errors, the use of a root cause analysis and safety procedures to reduce or prevent medical errors, factors which contribute to patient safety, commonly occurring medical errors in outpatient mental health practice, and other strategies to reduce and prevent errors.

About the Presenter: Dr. Terry S. Proeger is a psychologist in independent practice in Sarasota, Florida. He previously served as Chief Psychologist at the Sarasota Guidance Clinic. Dr. Proeger received his doctorate from the University of Florida in 1976 and, while at the University, was a Fellow of The Center for Neurobiological Sciences.
