About the Author


Robert N. Jamison, PhD, is a clinical psychologist who directs a structured pain management program at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.  He is an associate professor of Anesthesia and Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and has 16 years experience working with persons who experience chronic pain.  Dr. Jamison has written 120 articles, chapters, and abstracts in the area of behavioral medicine and chronic pain.  He is active in many national and international organizations including the Society of Behavioral Medicine, the International Association for the Study of Pain, the American Pain Society, and the Division of Health Psychology of the American Psychological Association.  Dr. Jamison serves on the Executive Board of the New England Pain Association and has been a surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
