About the Authors
Leonard J. Haas, PhD, ABPP, is a clinical psychologist and Professor of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Haas has served as a member of the ethics committees of the American Psychological Association and the Utah Psychological Association, as well as the State of Utah Psychology Licensing Board. He is well known as a workshop presenter and author in the area of professional ethics. Dr. Haas is active in professional psychology, and is past president of the Utah Psychological Association and of the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association. In addition to his work in ethics, Dr. Haas maintains a clinical practice in individual, family, and clinical health psychology, directs the Behavioral Science Training Program for University of Utah Family Practice Residency, and directs the School of Medicine's Student Counseling and Well-Being program. He is a diplomate of the American Boards of Professional Psychology in both clinical psychology and family psychology. |
John L. Malouf, PhD, has held various positions with Valley Mental Health, the public mental health authority in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has been Assistant Program Manager, Team Leader, Unit Manager, and Chief Psychologist/Director of Psychology Training. In 1996, he was awarded the Valley Mental Health Outstanding Clinician Award. Dr. Malouf is also an approved forensic evaluator for the State of Utah. He is Adjunct Professor of Psychology and Clinical Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Utah. Dr. Malouf has published and given workshops in the areas of ethics and psychology training and has taught graduate level classes in interviewing, child behavior change, and psychological assessment of children. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Utah. His involvements in professional organizations have included service as chair of the Ethics Committee of the Utah Psychological Association and as a member of the Utah State Psychology Examining Committee. |
