About the Authors

Richard I. Frederick, PhD, ABPP, holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Oklahoma State University and is Board Certified in Forensic Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He is employed as a staff psychologist at the US Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, MO, and is an instructor in psychology at Drury University and Southwest Missouri State University. Dr. Frederick is the author of the Validity Indicator Profile, a psychological test used to assess how well individuals cooperate in cognitive and neuropsychological tests. He is a Captain in the United States Naval Reserve.

Richart L. DeMier, PhD, ABPP, received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is Board Certified in Forensic Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He practices clinical and forensic psychology and serves as internship director at the US Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri.
Karin Towers, PhD, JD, received combined doctoral degrees in psychology and in law from the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University and Villanova University School of Law in 1999 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology at the US Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield MO in 2001. She is currently a staff psychologist at the Bridgewater State Hospital in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
