About the Editors
William F. Fry, Jr., MD, is a behavioral scientist
and psychiatrist. He has conducted studies of numerous aspects of humor,
mirth, and laughter since 1953 as an original member of the Gregory Bateson
Research Project team, and as a member of the clinical faculty of Stanford
University Medical School. He is Emeritus Associate Clinical Professor
at Stanford, Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and Diplomate
of the American Board of Psychiatry. He has authored over 100 articles,
chapters, and forewords on the subject of humor, as well as other scientific
subjects. He has been a cartoonist for the San Francisco Press Club
and author of a weekly wine and travel newspaper column. He is author
of Sweet Madness: A Study of Humor and co-author (with Dr. Melanie
Allen) of Make 'em laugh. |
Waleed A. Salameh, PhD, is a clinical psychologist,
organizational consultant, and international trainer in private practice
in San Diego, California. His training focuses on restructuring
organizational settings to further productive emotional communication and
humorous interactions, and on developing humorous and integrative approaches
to human change. |
